Milestones

Every time my babies get older, as much as I miss that itty bitty phase (and that delicious newborn smell), I can't help but delight in their milestones and cheer them on as they become aware of their own personalities.

I'm a blessed mama.

Summer's coming!

I like to blast some music and lip sync. Makani finds this equally confusing and hilarious. :)

I gave Mak a cookie. He took a bite, made a face, and spit it out.

When all else fails

... put on some music and dance. It'll please the toddler, put the baby to sleep and brighten your morning.

Two = Perfect.

I've been happily basking in my newborn honeymoon. Well, we all have. I'm exhausted, sure, but oh my gosh, Ellie smiled for the first time this week and all was forgotten.

I am loving everything about having two babies. Life really feels complete right now.

Feelings.

There are days I feel like I'm pushing 40.

And there are days where I feel like I'm a teenager playing house. Not in a bad way. But more in a very, gosh-I-feel-too-young-to-be-this-lucky! way. Those days are good days. I hold onto them.

That way when I'm feeling much, much older than 26, I can remind myself how giddy I get when I look at my family. I'm happier now than I was when I was a teenager. And that makes me feel even more like one.

I guess it's possible to get better as you get older. To become younger as you get older. What a comforting thought.
